There are no-fat diets, BUT...does a diet like this exist? Oats have 14% approximately of their calories coming from fat.
During the process of losing weight, it is important to have enough fat on your diet! 10-20% of calories coming from fat is the perfect amount.
When you get the right amount of fat on your diet, you will keep losing weight. You won't have to stress out thinking about gaining weight while you eat.
Did you know that Americans eat upwards of 35% of their calories from fat!
Do not focus on what you listen to or see on TV about fat. Search about what it really is and which one is a "good fat".
Carbohydrates, fat and protein. The macronutriens that are stored on your body.
During the process of weight loss, it's important to understand how they work.
These are used for quick energy stores. Do you remember glycogen? Well, the calories from carbs get stored as glycogen in your muscles and liver.
The calories from carbs are going to get stored as FAT. Do you know why? Because they are already fat!
3% of the calories from carbs get burned up during the process of getting stored.
BUT, with direct carbohydrates, 23% of those calories get burned up during the process of converting carbs to fat.
It is hard to have excess calories from carbs, and weight gain is easier from excess fat comsumption.
Have you heard a YouTuber or Influencer talking about their diets and how they lost weight fast and easy?
Did they really lose weight with a healthy diet? Will the results be permanent?
Yes, maybe we want to have that perfect beach body we see on Instagram. But the thing here is that we really need to focus on how and not when.
Everyone is different!
The progress that someone has with a type of diet will probably not work for you. Maybe those YouTubers lost weight with a high-calorie diet. But what you really don't know if the diet was the only thing they did to lose weight in the first place.
Let's break it up like this:
1 gram of carbs/protein = 4 calories
1 gram of fat = 9 calories
More fat = more calories.
So, when it comes to weight gain, it would be easier to gain weight directly from carbs than when it is with excess calories from carbs.
The healthiest diet is a whole food plant-based that is low fat. You DON'T have to cut out all the fats from your diet. You just need to know the right amount and the right kind of fat.
